Was hoping the Itachi and Sasuke conflict would develop more in this chapter, Kishi is really building up the Chapters to come though. The climax of this battle will truly be like nothing we've seen to date from the Naruto series! Looks like next up, is Tsunade at her best, something I'm looking forward to seeing, I've always wondered what exactly it is that she does (other than medical ninjutsu and crazy strength of course)

Does anybody here really think that Sasuke is going to let Itachi get away with that kind of 'excuse'?!

Option A) He stops Itachi and makes him talk (more).
Option B) He stops and heads to another direction.
Option C) He joins Itachi and helps him to stop Edo Tensei.

Would be awesome if he would choose Option C, but I guess instead he turns towards Naruto...

i'll choose C. I'm kinda thinking that he might continue follow itachi. It might lead to Kabuto or Madara, and stop the ET tech.

so, either:
a. kabuto vs sasuke+itachi
b. madara vs sasuke+itachi
c. kabuto+madara vs sasuke+itachi+the5kages

i just dont think sasuke would just continue on to another direction which probably lead to naruto. i think not yet..we save that for later xD

another week goes by with talk no jutsu. i guess the cool thing from this chapter was an explanation on how Senju Hashirama could even use healing tech without using seals (my thought was almost quite similar like how naruto could heal his, thought naruto maybe healed slower than hashirama, unless naruto uses ninetails chakra). and the second was, how hashirama was said to be able use more high technique than the rest of the shinobi now.

Damn Kishi if we are gonna have Talk-no-Jutsu at least give us 20 pages. I mean damn.
-Hopefully Tsunade doesn't get killed. Kill OOnokis' old azz.
-The 1st didn't seem so bad when he fought Sarutobi. Maybe Orochimaru was unable to fully use him, or Kishi didn't think this far ahead.
-Maybe Sasuke and Itachi tag team on Kabuto.

Edo Tensei is way more important right now than Sasuke. Nothing Itachi says will sway Sasuke from his path. Plus the Edo's will just keep reviving and kill more people. Itachi's doing the right thing.

Hashirama could heal wounds without forming seals, This is similar to naruto and kabuto, but probably on an even higher lvl.
Kabuto healed his abs vs naruto his rasengan, without forming seals, in case someone wondered why i mention kabuto.

It wouldnt surprise me, if Hashirama his parents, were an uzumaki and a senju.
Tobirama didnt inherit the same traits (mokuton and such) but he probably inherited spacetime jutsus.

Kabuto will be of the TYS lineage as well. That is why he was able to survive the battlefield that he was found on, as a kid.

I was kinda disappointed with the chapter (especially in comparison to the brilliance of the previous chapter).

Bucket load of talk no jutsu (way to much) between itachi and sasuke. Could have been done in half the pages.

As a result, the chapter was almost done.

The information, about hashirama healing his wounds, without forming seals, is neat though.

I dont think orochimaru his edo tensei technique, could use an edos full power.
Tobirama didnt use spacetime (although i dont know if edos should be able to do that).

Kabuto surpassed oro in that lvl i think. Being able to let the Edo use more of their potential (next to using a larger edo number maybe).

That would have been awesome. To revive all of those Uchiha. They would not need Edo Tensei to control them. They would come after Konoha shinobi for vengeance. All of those Sharingan users would be a handful. Maybe he did not want to piss of Sasuke.

Yeah, thinking back, how the hell did Kabuto survive that. That should have taken Kabuto out. Maybe he was already experimenting on himself. Just as Oro took such a beating from Tsunade without taking any real damage.

* Speaking on Orochimaru, just think of what he did with Jugos' DNA, creating all of those Shinobi with the curse mark. Just imagine a bunch of mini-SO6Ps running wild. A whole army with that field of vision and that kind of power.

* Or an army of Zetsu with that kind of power. Oro was the man!!

ok keeping aside from tobi's identity for now.. i'd like to ask how the so called strongest shinobi died??

a shinobi who could heal his wounds without forming seals.. & who have had the techniques of high class on a different scale... how could he have died??

i would like to assume that hasirama had died young like somewhat after the death of madara or before tobirama became hokage (just my thought). tobirama also died early in that infltrating mission ( though this sounds somewhat off too), making the young saru the next hokage.
if hasirama didn't die by the hands of madara which we've known already, then in which battle did hasirama die? or if he had died due to aging, being a senzu he should have lived longer than others.
& if i'm not wrong we've seen hasirama & tobirama telling little saru about the will of fire & protecting loved ones in that danzo flashback again. so could it be that hasirama died after that? how is the question that arise here with everybody, i think!
definitely need fashback of hasirama-madara battle so that we can know many things.. & this is likely in the fight of tsunade against madara.
what do you guys think!

-Mokuton.
-Mokuton tree world.
-Mokuton flower tree world (omg lol at yamato his shitty mokuton now).
-Medic, healing without using seals.
-Probably all the white zetsu jutsus.
-Bijou control.
-Taijutsu.
-Genjutsu (that darkness world thing).
-Scrolls and weapons.

You better run when you meet this guy.

Even with Kurama + EMS you will be fukked.

and Edo madara is Hashirama + Rinnegan + EMS + edo tensei.

Probably require:

Sasuke(rinnegan) + Naruto(bijoumode) combo to fight something like that.

or just itachi his pown@ss susanoo sword xD.

Did you notice that the hashirama face is somehow alive. I believe the symbiosis between the two will degrade over the battle and madara will lose of of his mokuton powers and hashirama will awaken.

Well, at least we know that the current Kages are a bunch of sissies. It seems to me Madara doesn't take them serious.

If Itachi doesn't stop Edo Tensei they're doomed. At least that is what Kishi wants us to think.

I hope we get an answer until next winter (in Europe).

Besides, I REALLY would like to see Sasuke developing from villain to hero from here on. Because there is no stronger tag team than Naruto & Sasuke.

Even with all these badass powers, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the third Hokage was the one who was called the 'God of shinobi', not Hashirama. This makes me want to know about Hiruzen's true strength even more.
As for Tsunade, she might die (I don't want her to die. I want her to stay alive and declare Naruto the sixth Hokage) but not before making Madara take back his words. But I have no idea how she will do it though. I don't think that medical ninjutsu will have much effect on an Edo. Her strength might be insane but Madara has the Susanoo and Rinnegan. What's your opinion on this ?

Finally after so many years I think we are about to experience Tsunade's true streangth, I figure she should have some kind of speciall mode, similar to Jaraya's Sage mode and Orochimaru's Giant white snakes. So she should use Poison stly techniques, and posibly a lot of strong sealing and berier ninjutsu. On top of that she should be able to use some elemental transformation (hoping she uses fire and some other element) Maybe she will come up with a Poison element. I think she is going to blw everyone away (I hope). As for the other Kage's the one I'm the most disapointed is with A. Everyone was saying how he was stronger then Sasuke and all the Kage's, so far he has done nothing worthy of being the leader of the joint shinobi army. And I was hoping to see more of a fight from Enoki and Mei. Although I think the one that is really going to take Madara down is Gaara, who knows maybe he will summmon a Genie and wish for Madara to be sealed... (KH2 Alladin) And maybe Mei develops the Mukoton tech since she has earth and water element.

As for the sasuke-Itachi talk, it was to long and no information, I would have hoped to see Itachi telling Sasuke to tag alongside him, to see some of his heroirness so that Sasuke may want to be good...

Come on, so many things in the present and near future are going on and you waste your precious time with TES, TYS blabbering :-).

Don't you get that something really big is going on? Sasuke has to decide on his way ahead. Will he continue his plans to destroy Konoha? Or will he join the "good side" and help Naruto?

Every prediction from now on is worthless if it does not address that question :-).

BUT, if he does, there is too much power on the "good side", which actually means that something must happen to Naruto.

I put my money (what's left of it) on Sasuke becoming a gooood buy, Naruto being captured by Tobi, and Sasuke trying to free Naruto from then on! This is what Kishi could have ment when he said 2012 will be focussed on Sasuke.

Kishi revealed that hiruzen was the strongest. He said he was the strongest kage of his time and even kabuto in the series said he was the strongest kage alive when he died. He mastered every jutsu in konoha along with having the nick name that the sage of six paths had which was God of Shinobi. Hiruzen in his old age had a ranking of 34 in his old age.

my interpretation was as follows.

Itachi tryed to show sasuke a certain reality. As in, look at certain happenings and deeds with your eyes (the indications).

Sasuke says he can see through them now (because they were not true) and he knows the truth now. The real happenings, the real deeds (the real indications).

Than itachi answers with ''not just indications guide you on the path you walk'' and a picture of naruto appears.

Because naruto doesnt look at the indications, he follows his heart and looks at the deeper meaning behind what happens in the world. Not just someones deeds, but why they have been done and how to solve them.

I hope this makes it clear.

As it has been told that uzumakis were distant relatives of senju so i think maybe the son of SO6P who inherited his body would have had 2 children as well uzumaki n senju so our naruto has all the ingredients to regain SO6P's strength
similar to Hashirama or maybe greater than him and finally beat the crap out of madara...

IMHO this his a f***ing awesome chapter ! I couldn't imagine this meeting between Sasuke and Itachi as good ! I can't wait for what will follow ! Ending Edo Tensei is crucial : Itachi is maybe the greatest Heroe of this manga (ok that's a question of sensibility) He can't loose any time or any forces talking and maybe fighting with Sasuke cause He has to handle with Kabuto... Great Great Guy ! I simply like the way he explain to Sasuke he let him alive not only because he loves him but because he needed to be juged and kill by an Uchiha like him. Itachi his definively my prefered character in this manga... well just after Naruto.. well I don't know anymore !!!!!

some people here have doubts about the power of the edo tensei...not me.
why? because in the fight that the first and second fought the third they were amazingly strong.
the 1ªst deflected chakra fire missiles (third´s technique) with his own hands and after that beat the s$!t out of the third, after that used secret mokuton technique birth of trees and traped the third.
during that battle the second hokage used a high level water technique with no water around and water missiles,also of course the creator of edo tensei.
right after that the third decided to seal them in the death god.

for the next chapters i think that madara will only die when the edo tensei stoped, but the 5 kages have the power to delay him.

i noticed that sasuke was talking sincerely and honestly.maybe he will change his mind.doing things his own way of course but maybe diferently.
tobi is kick ass but naruto has 8 chakras given by the bijuu.still miss one to reach the power of the juubi.

but the sharingan is full of surprises.if you notice the juubi´s eye was red (sharingan) 3 rings(rinnegan) and 9 tomoes 3 in each ring.
but when the juubi was sealed in the moon without chakra, its eye was the rinnegan.
the sharingan is red, one ring and 3 tomoes.
this is why i think everything in the sharingan is related to the juubi.

1-EMS = death, sasuke is gonna die soon
2-madara indeed died 80 years ago at VOtE
3-madara couldn't possibly have given nagato the rinnegan
4-pure rinnegan occurs only by Will of God (jiraiya's statement)
the first chosen one was rikoudu
the second one was nagato
5-rinnegan only occurs when there are signs of juubi's revival
6-only uzumaki's can use rinnegan to it's maximum potential
7-an uchiha body cannot handle rinnegan for too long and will die ultimately

all this stuff coming up about hashirama makes me believe we will see the battle between madara and hashirama pretty soon and then madara will get angry talking about him and pull out his trump card. oh and on another note weve seen tsukiyomi,amaterasu,susanoo,izanagi,and a couple other sharingan,ms,ems techniques. im thinking instead going from ems to rinnegan that sasuke or maybe tobi eyes will go to izanami sharingan(the jubi eye).well it sounds good to me and we havent seen izanami yet so i think kishi will go this way.

madara never had any means to obtain hashirama's dna during the fight unless he was also a medical ninja like orochimaru which he is not

then mutating it in his body at the same time to use izanagi instantly
or make a shape shifted white zetsu clone out of it in a blink of an eye
and all this when he was in a tight spot and possibly stabbed heavily in the chest

and then waiting for 50 long years for nagato uzumaki to appear in rain country and give him rinnegan while he could do the same to any potent uzumaki 5-10 years at most after his fight with madara

but madara waited for 10......20.......30.......not 40...................but 50 years while laying zetsu eggs underground which could only be produced through tailed beast chakra which akatsuki started collecting 75 years after madara - hashrama fight

and then some people say that madara after giving nagato the rinnegan created a clone in tobi while he died in the process
tobi is a soulless madara clone or puppet who is no one
what the heck???
does this make any sense at all

obviously kishi envisions a very special character in tobi otherwise this story has no meaning at all

In general it creates reality. Because even when it turns reality into an illusion for a moment, it turns the illusion back into reality quite fast.

Meaning, izanami, the opposit, will destroy life.

Sounds like mugen tsukiyomi tbh, although that doesnt carry the name of izanami (not right now at least).

Maybe if sasuke uses a juugo head on his chest, instead of hashirama, than he can use izanami instead of the rinnegan version of izanagi :).
Juugo being darkskin power and all, compared the the light skin hashirama power.

tbh i don't think this manga is leading us towards something like izanami
on another note the concept of izanagi (although it is termed as genjutsu) is in perfect agreement with definition of ninjutsu and mechanics of yin-yang

the power of imagination (sharingan and uchiha bloodline)transformed into reality through incredible life force (hashirama's dna)

i don't see how the concept of izanami could be assimilated into what's have been stated so far in manga

nearly 80 odd years after death, the mans cells are STILL able to regenerate and form new mindless hashirama clones wherever they are fused into, whatever took down hashirama senju was no battle between shinobi, legendary sage and possibly his sons aside, he was is the strongest shinobi known to us. The tschuikage all feared and respected him, a fully powered madara with kurama could not kill him, so what on earth did?

Simply put, his "body" is somewhat indistructible, even though he may not survive what remains of his cells simply multiplies to form a new him, a practically immortal body.

Personally, puzzles drive me mad, I must complete them and make sure every single gap is plugged. Kishi leaves so many different puzzles to put together but hides the key pieces.

Here is the jigsaw I have managed to put together with the pieces we of information we have been given, obviously these are my own interpretations and should not be seen as fact, but plausible theorys.

Hashirama senju, an invincible shinobi, teams up with uchiha madara to establish konoha, the union of the two halves of the sages blood line establishing the most powerful force in the shinobi world, even in a war time era where the average shinobi was far more versed in battle.

To bring peace to the world hashirama decides to have faith, and trust and love for his fellow shinobi, entrusting them with the bijuu as a sign of peace ( TYS ) Madara, outraged by this is still determined to rule with an iron fist ( see oonoki flashback ) as he believes the only peace that can be established is by force ( TES )

At some point, hashirama probably visits uzushiogakure,meets with uzumaki clan, learns of distant blood relation to sage and marries mito, taking the opportunity to expand his vast knowledge of jutsu along the way ( uzumaki fuinjutsu ), which tobirama evidently made more use of as he learnt both edo tensei and jinkukan ninjutsu.

At a point relatively soon after this ( it is yet to be specified ) hashirama is made hokage, and the battle between he and madara follows ( judging by the age difference between oonoki with first tschuikage in flashback and fighting madara in same flashback roughly 15 to 20 years ).

Now, madara has supposedly obtained a portion of hashiramas strength after the battle, most likely awakening the rinnegan as a result of this ( he appears to be much too proficient with the eyes techniques to only just have awakened them upon being resurected by kabuto ).

Madars knowledge of nagato and "him" would indicate he did not die for a long while after his fight with hashirama, but as this last chapter shows, hashirama has a perfect and immortal body, as he heals virtually automatically, if madara obtained this strength, it is more than plausible that he was able to not only recover his wounds, but live well into the era of the 3 hokage ( just as mito did ).

Adding some fun to the previous comments, Madara must have a jutsu named ''harden'', you guess the rest...

And there goes Tsunade. She'll die for sure, but not before putting a hell of a fight. I see three things that can happen:
- Tsunade realizes she and the Kages can't escape from death, and she attempts the Dead Demon Consuming seal
- Itachi aids the Kages
- Itachi ends Edo Tensei

I don't see Tsunade seriously harming Madara, unless she connects a (hypothetical for the moment) dead demon seal.

Things will get rather more dicey here as we approach the current time line. Bare with me, I will explain to the best of my abilities.

There is a large time skip of seeming inactivity, and at this point in my theory, hiruzen is hokage, having already trained the sannin during the second shinobi world war. Maadara has not aged physically, due to the power of hashiramas cells, but for some reason, has not recovered the full extent of his powers. ( in the anime the man kisame first meets wrapped in bandages is madara, controlling yagura, having come up with the moons eye plan and is going about trying to implement it)

Sometime around this point, obviously at least 10 years before jiraiya meets the ame orphans, madara awakens the rinnegan, revives someone, (tobi, whoever he may be is a whole different debate that deserves its own space in another post ) and dies shortly after due to the strain put on his body by the eyes, but not before discussing the plan with tobi, and instructing his eyes be transplanted to a strong uzumaki like nagato so that he may revive him when he is powerful enough, in the process of finding a suitable young easily influenced uzumaki, he probably destroyed uzushiogakure ( a jutsu akin to that meteor summoning, he commented it was a sight he had enjoyed previously ) as some form of sick "survival of the fittest test.

There is another time skip, beyond the third ninja war ( minato namikaze is now hokage) and nagato has defeated hanzo of amegakure and is now able to sync with the gedo mazo. This signifys the time for the plans to kick into action and take the kyuubi from konoha.

Tobi has by this point acquired the intagibility jutsu, the space time migration technique, and the zetsu like substance he is made of, allowing him to regrow limbs ala hashirama, likely as a result of interecation with orochimaru,( who has defected konoha by now ) and intergration of hashiramas cells into his body ( having seen its usefullness in madara ).

For some reason or the other, at the time of the uciha clan massacre, the masked man itachi meets, has long hair, just like madaras, where as tobi of the konoha attack a few years before has same short hair as present time line tobi. The explanation for this can only be that, there where two seperate masked men ( i do not believe that tobi grew and then cut his hair short ). My theory on this would provide an alternative to the how did madara die question.

Itachi, having met long hair madara, and in a sense becoming his apprentice, was assisted by him in the massacre of their clan. However, we know that itachi is a loyal servent to konoha, and anbu member, and with madara being such a threat to the village, he killed him ( the real madara )and informed the elders hiruzen and danzou of him, hence why danzou thinks tobi is madara ( see fight with sasuke ).
As tobi said, if itachi knew all his secrets, he would be dead.

From hence onwards tobi (shot hair masked man) started acting under the guise of "madara", continuing the plan they had together, ( see posing to kisame as its me madara ),he had previously never done so, ( with minato, he said maybe I am, maybe I am not ).

Long read yes, but I do not think any summary of this exists elsewhere on the net! So do enjoy it, and whether you agree or disagree, try to really think about the story and see what you make of the puzzel! I am open to any and all questions

A simple map would basically be, to north of the battle area is the sea, South is sea too, East is kumogakure ( allied shinobi h.q ) and west ( north west ), 2 countries over is the mountain graveyard, kabutos location, tobis hideout.

What if.. Naruto will be The End of ninpo and thus the ninja world itself? The real fear is that Naruto will "change" into the side of so-called bad guys and wipe out every single one of ninjas.

I think Naruto will do - at the end - something extremely radical, not just dying while fighting with Sasuke. To do something to the world itself.

Firstly, the sage was able to make use of his chakra, something which everyone in naruto has, he simply taught them how to use it, he did not give the world chakra.
secondly, I think the odds of naruto ever having the power to seal away the worlds ninjutsu are about as high as me awakening sharingan after the tragic death of one of my goldfish.

Madara has a counter to basically all other attacks of itachi and even though itachi is leetness awesome with kunai, those arent gonna get a kill to a rinnegan madara.

so the longhair madara either was zetsuclone, tobi with hairgrown (16 years should suffice for that length xD) or the real one, but not killed by itachi.

tobi´s body isn´t like the white zetsu, it´s like orochimaru´s grey skin.
besides, kabuto said to edo madara that he was "HIS" assistant...
maybe back then madara had a technique like orochimaru´s body switching and used it on hashirama to upgrade his eyes to the rinnegan like orochimaru was trying to get the sharingan from sasuke, and he already had the 1ºst hokage´s cells.but since hashirama lived a little longer this doesn´fit.
but oro and edo madara know each other...

Man why wont itachi just stop with the damn riddles and just convince sasuke to join konoha again I mean like sasuke has never been my favorite character but I would love to see sasuke and naruto go up against Tobi or against madara or sasuke joins the kages in there fight against madara and then comes to naruto to help him to defeat Tobi

@161 Like some1 said in the comments, Madara only was only using his weapons. There was no show of eyepower except for the controll of the 9-tails, while his eyes were showing a very active EMS.

New prediction: In hope for answers Sasuke decides to follow Itachi. They approach Kabuto.

Meanwhile Madara is just one step before killing the 5th Hokage.

Just before the final blow he suddenly dissappears.

Back to Kabuto who has to admit that fighting Sasuke AND Itachi is a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit too much for him which is why he summons Madara.

Next Chapter: Madara vs Brothers

I see the only way Itachi can stop Edo Tensei is to
put Kabuto under some deep genjutsu and recall the Edo's back or threaten him with death to stop .

Is there another way ?

Tsunade can't die;she won't die - Naruto will enter to save her like when she was about to fight Pain.

Later Tsunade will have a test-tube baby from the SO6P ( Naruto) & she'll retire...don't get it twisted ,the only reason I'm saying this coz Tsunade is the strongest n the most beautiful woman on Anime world.

Tsunade's child will be a even stronger ninja than Naruto as Tsunade+Naruto(Senju+Uzimaki) -Well Kishi bro should think bout it :) but I'm not saying this in a perverted way - the situation demands it ....

Weeks ago we all dealt with one major questions:

When are Naruto and Sasuke going to fight each other?

Not"if" they fight, but "when"!

I guess Kishi is going to surprise us all with a majir twist in the story, the key being Sasuke and the decisions he takes within the next chapters.

I love the idea of Sasuke actually listening to the advice of Itachi. Itachi already indicated that Sasuke es being used by Tobi and that he doesn't know the complete truth yet.

I think Sasuke is still looking for Itachi's approval, whether he admits it or not. I hope that Sasuke comes back to the good side, but I won't hold my breath. I don't think that will happen until he has an actual conversation with Naruto... probably after they've nearly killed each other.

After reading this chapter, I am assuming some super crazy stuff is going on in the next chapter...

in page 13, when madara pointed his tit to "woman with medic ninja techniques" (tsunade) and in the next few pages where madara keep talking about "medic techniques" and how hashirama can heal himself without seals, suggests that he has a mind on medic techniques and since tsunade is ready to fight back made me think that tsunade will damage edo madara using medic techniques!!!

Just like if u use cure/cura/curaga on a zombie status in final fantasy =D

Anyway i like this chapter coz sasuke is being talkative again instead of being all so cool suck my d*** =D
Its like sasuke still feels inferior against itachi!

If only Kabuto was able to revive Jiraiya through Edo Tensei, a meeting between Naruto and Jiraiya would have been very emotional.

Too bad that Kabuto wasn't able to get/recover Jiraiya's dead body, we'll never get to see Jiraiya again even as an Edo Tensei summon.

I call BS that kabuto cant revive jiraiya.

Bucket loads of blood everywhere in his nagato battle.

Blood on the 6paths of pain weapons.

Orochimaru having been orochimaru his teammate.

All the stripclubs that Jiraiya visited to ditch his liquid lol.

The battle between the sannin (with shizune and naruto), where blood was spilled as well.
Orochimaru was already able to use edo during this time.

Manda v2 would probably be able to swim that deep in the ocean and pick it up.

Just plain BS, that jiraiya his dna cant be obtained for edo. Plain BS!

I think Sasuke will not change his mind right now no matter what Itachi says. He already decided to take revenge on Konoha even if Itachi told him not to do so, that's why Itachi said he would stop talking from then on. Itachi is letting Naruto play that part 'cause he has faith in Naruto.

All Edo Tensei were powered up by Orochimaru's chakra and since he was sealed away , the only other person who
could have inherited or had knowledge of the skill had to be Kabuto.

I wanna see Jiraiya being revived by Edo Tensei but I think Kishimoto-sensei will not do that 'cause it would just ruin how beautiful/glorious he portrayed Jiraiya's death. Jiraiya's life ended heroically. Reviving him would just mess things up.

In the manga, it says that almost all of the Edo Tensei'd shinobis are already sealed by the Shinobi Alliance with the exception of few like Madara, Muu, and Itachi. We didn't even get to see how the Seven Shinobi Swordsman are sealed. And also Dan. I think their sealing will be part of Naruto Shippuuden filler episodes.

in the preview of next episode, tobi is seen using the swirly jutsu with his sharingan from up close.
His eye remained 3 tomoe, although he didnt finish the swirly, so it maybe would have changed into a different form.

Still interesting to see.
