1) The manga has to stay ahead, hence the fillers.

Didn't mind this filler.
I'm looking forwards to the next one though. We get to see the some background story, the original Ino-Shika-Cho formation. Good also to see the Kosuke character being used - I thought he was going to be a once-off character but he is very appropriate for such things.

Despite this, he continued to train arduously to improve his skills, something that was insisted upon him by Tobirama Senju. During his time as a ninja, he had served under the Second, Third, and Fourth Hokage and now apparently even the Fifth Hokage. At other points, he fought alongside Jiraiya and Sakumo Hatake.

You would think with a freakin war on the way that everyone would be in a bigger hurry to prepare!? But they are like "Eh, it's whatever" The 5-7 episode fillers were ok, almost half the the entire Shippuden series is FILLER! Stop wasting our time so much!

What, do you want the anime to catch up to the manga? And then what? Oh, dwee, fillers! Or do you just want there to be nothing at all? Oh, wait, did you ever stop to think that this is actually people's livelihoods? You're downloading these episodes for *free*. It's not like you're wasting your money or anything.
Here's an idea: just don't watch the fillers. Pretend they don't exist and that the "new season" of Naruto is starting again on the 22nd of December.

Somehow doubt that "Kakashi my eternal rival" or whatever its called isnt a filler. Probably going to be about Gai and Kakashi.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!! EPISODE 242 "Naruto's Oath" that airs 29/12/2011 IS NOT A FILLER!! Last filler episode airs 22/12/2011 and is called "Kakashi, my eternal rival" So only 3 more filler episodes to go! yay!!! ^^

@34 Well said - I can understand people being anxious to watch the anime version of what's in the manga. But I too am tired of hearing mostly people complaining and whinging about fillers.
Some fillers are bad, some are great. the last few has been okay, with the Konohamaru being pretty outstanding.
If you're going whinge about fillers, at least be specific and say why you don't like a particular filler.
Anyway... looking forward to a filler about Ino-Shika-Cho (parents as opposed to the current one) :-)

@35 "Kakashi my eternal rival" is a filler..use common sense..gai is with naruto and kakashi is at the village..how can it not be a filler?
Gai will think about past things he challed to kakashi and stuff..
that's the last filler..'Naruto's oath' will be continuation showing dark naruto at the end of the episode.

I hate that I am tied into a chair and forced to watch every episode of this show even when it is filler! If only I had the ability to turn it off when I realized it was filler. Gosh, life is so hard and terrible! There are great anime shows that are not great 100% of the time! What the hell!?!?!? In all seriousness, most American shows go on hiatus in between seasons so there are just large gaps where the show does not air. They do it differently over there as the shows air year round. Alter your world view and realize that it isn't the same everywhere and you are not being forced to watch the off season episodes. Furthermore I would like to ask you all to cry me a river and drown yourselves in it because even Naruto filler is better than watching American Idol or any of the other crap they show.
