To all the people saying "YAY FILLER IS OVER!!" what makes you say that? In the manga there was no get together between TenTen, Ino, Sakura, Hinata and that girl with the weird glasses. And since that's what next weeks episode is it's not over yet...but judging by the scenes shown in the new intro/outros the filler might end soon

fillers are a good part of the series. without it we might be having an off season. so my advice is skip the fillers and stuck with the manga untill the story is back on track.

I don't mind fillers if they help fill out the "Naruto Universe" more, provide backstories, show supporting character development etc.
This one showed a bit of Shikamaru's development - him understandably feeling nervous given he will be commanding lots of people in the up-coming 4th Ninja war. Shikamaru had doubts about his ability and this episode showed him regaining his confidence and clearing his doubts.
A big question is "how did Shikamaru suddenly get to where Naruto is?"
By now Naruto and his entourage should already be quite far away from Kohonagakure, and only with teleportation or some sort of Kuchiyose No-Jutsu would it be possible to get Shikamaru there.
So, a plot-hole (which I dislike) that should have been addressed, but wasn't IMHO - detracted from what would have been a reasonable filler episode (at least better than stupid pirates which surely Konoha's ninja can wipe the floor with anytime).

@52 - I suppose, given also the post by 50, that it is possible for Shikamaru & Ten Ten to rendezvous with Naruto's ship, since the sea route is supposedly longer than land-based routes.

You are all over looking the story. They explained it. It is too DANGEROUS for Naruto to travel on land, therfore he had to take the sea route. The sea route is much longer and dangerous but eliminates the chance of Naruto getting caught by the Akatsuki.
The route to the lightning village is far more shorter via land than sea. The only reason Naruto had to take the sea route is because Tsunade figured that the Akatsuki were watching the land route,(as you should be aware, the Akatsuki have realised that Naruto will most likely be seeking help from Killer Bee, as Killer Bee can control his Bijuu)they are expecting Naruto to travel to the lightning village.
So therefore it is completely possible that Tenten and Shikumaru could of traveled to the port (where they joined up with Naruto)as the journey to the exact same port will take longer via the sea route as opposed to the land route.
Don't guess, just pay attention to the story. Stop bashing the fillers, as most of you need filling-in.

why many people complain about watching "filler" but happily watching "naruto the movie number xxx" ?
for me, i don't mind filler bcoz i alway think it is "naruto the movie" in 20 minute version.
