For months we've been wondering how Madara would fight a war with the 5 nations, and now we know. A CLONE ARMY!!! (Star Wars is going too be pissed, LOL).

So Zetsu must be a creation that Madara made since he treats him as property. With the power of the Sanju and Uchiha he can create life like the SO6P's. So I figure Madara created Zetsu with this power.

Now with the chakra of the 7 captured tailed beast he was able too boost his powers and used it too create those 100,000 clone army.

It seems there will be a future battle between Kabuto(with Summons) and the combination of Naruto, Bee, Garaa, and Tsuchikage.

should be an interesting battle :D

I wonder how Kabumaru plans to buff up Zetsu.
@4, i agree, though is Tsuchikage going along or did he concede to let Gaara go?

I think that Zetsu is a creation combining the wood element of the 1st, and the chakra of all the tailed beasts. This would explain how he has made so many, and y he is so lenient to give up a copy. i still wonder how kabuto knew about this, and how he could make them better

Are really all those Zetsu under water? This makes is creepy and interesting.

I have to say, that I don't think Madara will leave Kabuto alone. I think he'll either follow him or.... kill the rest of the Kages since he's regained some of his power. (Rinnegan eye's)

Isn't this Gedo statue the thing that Minato uses for the Dead Demon Sealing Jutsu?
I mean doesn't this imply that those who use this are actually determining someone's death (vice versa, in that it could give life?)

@6, Madara could possibly have used some kind of technique like Izanagi, he was saying thats what the Sot6P used to create life.

Zetsu's clones have shown to be pretty strong in the past, should be interesting to see what their abilities are, for example if they turn into an identical clone of their opponent like when Guy's team fought them. Though hopefully Kishi brings a new and interesting spin to Zetsu's techniques.

Zetsu clones were all white... They were the manifestation of the Shodaime Hokage's cells but what about the Black Zetsu? Where did he come from? And I also think that those clones are mindless while the original Zetsu has a mind... In fact two personalities...

Gaara is the Kazekage. If he has been stripped off of Shukaku's powers doesn't mean he is weak. It has been a LONG time since we saw Gaara in action and it is very much possible that he has come up with some new jutsus... So let's keep our fingers crossed.

I just read tonight's chapter in 8:39 PST. I was totally surprised and shocked about it. The only questions that need to be answered: A) Hashirama Senju died, but how did Madara get a hold of his body and extract so many DNA cells? It's kind of like being in a cryostasis or cryogenic sleep. B) Does Zetsu have any parents?

Madara had said that when he fought Senju Hashirama at the Valley of End, he appeared to have been defeated but he had been able to procure some tissues and cells of Shodaime. It is from those cells that he has created a miniature copy of the Shodaime though it is without a mind...
And as it had been discussed earlier, White Zetsu is supposed to be from the cells of Shodaime...

Yea I'm starting to jump on board with the Madara made Zetsu theory, but I'm not sure yet. We've learned an awful bit about the white zetsu, but we know little to nothing about the black one. Also I think Zetsu is the source of Madara regenerative powers. One last note: Remember several chapters ago when Madara ordered the white Zetsu to reattach with his black side, I wonder if Zetsu (with both sides) has a couple special tricks we haven't seen.

my opinion is that Kabuto is trying to get a body for orochimaru. that make sense since he is trying to experiment with 1st hokage DNA; maybe he wants to resurrect orochi in a new body.

The only reason Gaara even lost too Deidara was because he spent a massive amount of chakra protecting the village from getting destroyed.

1st Theory for Kabuto :
I dont think Kabuto will win against both Jinchuriki. He will run away once he knew that he will lose.

2nd Theory for Kabuto :
Kabuto is double agent for Naruto only. He will inform about Sasuke once they meet. He also will leak such information about Tobi to the people at Fortress

Yamato also in a target to be experimented by Kabuto. Yamato will lose to him.

of course we dont know how strong gaara is, even in sasuke`s invasion we did not see too much, obvoiusly he would have increased his powers by then, but cant compare him to reikage or Danzou

HHHmmmpppphhh, 100,000 Zetsu's..

Let's not forget the Master of Kage Bunshin now is Master of Sage mode, Is now the Master of the Kyubi, and the whole village of Fire is probably now willing to die for Naruto after the way he dispatched Pain. Madara can send either a ton of Zetsu's or a Kabutomaru with his summons and they'll still have their hands full.

The other thing is Nagato was using that statue and the rods to control the six paths of Pain, Madara might have the Rinnegan now and be able to use all 6 elements of chakra, but can he do it better than Nagato.

and lets not forget kyubis help and that pain was forced to use even more chakra with shibaku tensei

hahaha, that fight was like asking a vegeta that was hurt from the henkidama and spent a lot energy fighting goku to fight picolo in full strebgth

If i'm correct this is the chance kabuto was looking for as to resurrect orochimaru, he showed lesser interest in zetsu clone but invariably he'll need it to transfer absorbed orochimaru so his revival will be completed, i suspect that madara knows this but somehow he doesn't seem to be fazed by it and on the other hand since orochimaru knew of madara's plan he formed another backup for his resurrection if needed. I think there is a connection between zetsu's creation and orochimaru as he was one the pioneer users of forbidden jutsus and when orochimaru was in konoha before fleeing that is, he had enormous amount of research data (on the forbidden jutsus) available, but i don't understand one thing as to how orochimaru came to know about tobi/madara's plans since he left akatsuki long before tobi was introduced as a new akatsuki member or maybe he also knew that madara is alive, same as Itachi did... somehow orochimaru knew that madara will need his help for upgrading zetsu clones thus the proposition from kabuto, this will take him closer towards acquiring bijuus...

Here's a thought or two... Madara used a dead ninja in his place when he fought against the First. Like Itachi/Kisame vs Guy and the others to prevent Gara's rescue. Or... Having Senju Dna already, created a clone to fight for him. Win or lose the objective was at least to obtain the Firsts' Dna to create his perfect body.

as you read in manga oro knew about madara's plans all along. his hideout, his zetsu clones, his weakness(the unknown reanimation summoning)etc. He knew sasuke will kill him right before the body transfer bcoz at that time he is weakest, I'm saying this bcoz if u remember when sauske showed up to kill him he said, "I expected you to come here" now we were shown that kabuto absorbed the remaining parts after sauske absorbed him, on the contrary, I think it was just the opposite oro placed some part of him inside kabuto before sasuke absorbed him. Now the point behind all the above statements is that kabuto knows that when the time is right madara will be outfoxed by oro thus there is no question of kabuto becoming the dog for madara and kishi also is somewhat suggesting the same on the manga cover page 'when all is said and done, will it be the monster or the serpent that emerges'

orochimarus was in sasuke and was sealed by itachi, the only thing you can get from the cells of oro is a clone, but not his consiuness, that has been explained in this chapter

again if u recall the episode in which kabuto confronted naruto, hinata and others, hinata took a closer look at kabuto through her byakugan it was shown that almost one third of his body was taken over by oro's powers and somehow kabuto managed to restrain it. Now tell me if they are mere cells of orochimaru then how in the world are they managing to takeover kabutos body, even if it was partial? and I'm not quite sure about oro being sealed by itachi COMPLETELY, may be a large part of him but not completely and as i pointed out kishis statement on the manga cover page, if there had been no chance of oro's return then he wouldn't write something like that!

#88 itachi sealed oro's soul in that thingy. what we see in kabuto now is oro's body cells. and about oro's revival its just like madara did with shodai hokage its mindless body, but interestingly here kabuto surpasses madara by implanting oro in himself.

Orochimaru has been sealed within Totsuka Sword for good. He is not coming back.
The cells of Orochimaru just give Kabuto the same powers as Orochimaru, nothing more.

I agree with u guys, don't get too worked up!
but i'm just speculating on the kishi's statement. from what i understand of it either the 'monster'(Kabuto)or the 'serpent' (Orochimaru) is to make a shocking return. After years of reading naruto I understood one thing clearly that Kishi doesn't say or write anything without good reason.
I don't give a damn about shodaime, danzou or anyone for that matter I'm just speculating from what I gathered, so it doesn't matter anyways if I'm right or not!

Kabuto left a trail of corpse to the madara's hideout, which was tracked by sai, anko and yamato this was right before naruto acquired 8 tailed mode while fighting pain, now what do you make of this huh? I think kabuto plans to betray madara and acquire either zetsu clones or bijuus. Now without oro's conscious how the heck kabuto found madara's hideout which was known only to his most loyal subordinates.

oro was not the only one in akatsuki, kabuto was a member too, oro took interest on kabuto due to his abilities as spy and his knowledge about akatsuki

besides, kabuto himeself told tobi that he shouldnt understimate him, since afetr all he was a member of akatsuki, meaning that kabuto founf madara thanks to his abilities, not oro`s

oro knew about madara and the rest thanks to kabuto, oro could not possibly do the job and if he tried he cpuld have been discovered and be killed or kicked either by itachi, kisame or pain

as i said earlier i'm just speculating there is no point in discussing all this but let me tell u something even oro wouldn't trust kabuto with such information as that which may involve serious risk of deviation in kabuto's loyalty as madara is shown full of resources and power both of them are craved by kabuto and first of all shodaime's clone, zetsu's creation happened long before kabuto was even born thus only oro and few of madara's subordinates knew about his hideout, at that time no spy or kabuto was to be with oro when he investigated madara's actions... hope this satisfies your query!

@96, Kabuto is a very able ninja, Theres little we know about his techniques other than the resurrection technique. I wouldnt doubt that he could find his way to Madara's hideout on his own.

Kabuto says he wants shodai's cells/a clone body, also sasuke for his sharingan, is kabuto wanting research material for the different paths? i remember him saying he wants to 'learn the truth about ninjutsu', this could mean he's researching into the Sot6p or something similar

dude seriously there have been many trackers and even better ninjas than kabuto, but in order to find something you need to know if it exists, even kisame didn't know about tobi's real identity until madara chose to reveal to him and madara himself said that only itachi and handfull people knew about him who were very loyal to him like kisame who died for his sake, and it was shown nowhere that kabuto knew that madara existed but only after absorbing oro he found about madara's existence and his hideout as well!!

In my opinion whether it's right or wrong Naruto did beat Nagato. In the end Naruto refrained from killing Nagato and Konan in the hopes it could bring peace, his actions bringing Nagato's change of heart and the revival of the villagers. Sure Nagato had plenty of chakra left, it still might not have been enough to finish Naruto. I'm not sure what you mean with your reference to Naruto needing strength of the toads, your forgetting he can summon Boss Gamabunta and this is a Jutsu, and one of the six paths of pain was a summoning specialist!! big three headed dog and massive rhino ringing any bells??

for starters kabuto wasn't a member of akatsuki he was a spy for sasori who was an akatsuki member and at that time no one but pain and konan knew about madara bcoz he was working behind the scenes and commanding pain, tobi was introduced in akatsuki after the death of sasori and the supposed death of deidara and even if it was kabuto who found about tobi by himself then i guess u r suggesting that kabuto was better ninja than previous akatsuki members who are S-class missing nins, including kisame... boy you need to get your facts straight!

Well we may as well stop banging that drum coz they didn't end up fighting it out to the very end and Nagato is dead so we won't know... I suppose it just now comes down to who's more skillful. Naruto is awesomely strong with sage mode and his new controlled Kyubi power, and has massive amounts of ingenuity giving him the ability to make things up on the fly. We'll have wait and see how this ballances out against age and experience with Madara and Kabuto.

I get the feeling he's going to be busting out some of his dads moves and other techniques on instinct like the way he first pounded Kisame, or hopefully we get to see some training where Yamato and a couple of high level shinobi are just standing around gawking with WTF!!exclamations. I know Kakashi's not on the Island with them, but I can see his shitgrin under that mask when he hears about Naruto controling the Kyubie and becoming even stronger and smirks as he says "yep, I taught him well".

tsuchikage, part of an elite team, head to the island.

Gai is in agony while others are fine. looks like naruto

has recovered from sprain....


kabuto looks and feels very confident that he can take

the 8 and tails...i do feel for now that he can indeed

really take them out...but with gaara and tsuchikage and

shinobi there that make it very difficult fight...


so it will kabuto, deidara, kakuzu, nagato, itachi and

This chapters biggest insight is to just how much Kabuto knows. The fact that he suprised both Madara and Zetsu is something everyone should have noted. Whether or not Kabuto was 'given' the information when he absorbed Orochimaru's DNA or discovered it while reading his reseach doesn't really matter. It is an insight as to just how much Orochimaru really knew. He had information that no one had! Madara would never have shown anyone his cave for any reason, unless the person wanting to see it already knew it was there.

So the intention of this episode is to inform the readers that Kabuto knows far more than his enemies can anticipate. It was obvious at the end with bird, that he knew the island that they were on was a moving island before hand. He may not know that it is a massive turtle, but he still knows it moves.

Kabuto, most likely has a well documented history of the Uzumaki clans 'special' abilities; as well as 4 volumes on Naruto. Volunteering to take the 8 tails shows one of two things: He either understands what it takes to take down the 8 tails because of documentation. Or he needs to fight the 8 tails to determine how to fight Naruto (because of their ability to control a beasts chakra). Either way, he is clearly prepared and beyond ready to fight an extremely intense battle. If we have learned anything of Kabuto he would not do this lightly. The 8 tails is the strongest opponent outside of a Tsunade frightened at the site of blood (which has been years and years in manga terms, maybe a decade).

I want to say that Kabuto will lose to the 8 tails, but I have some doubt. Only because him winning will make the story more interesting, as he is promised a Zetsu clone in return. He either wins or reinforcements show up and cause him to retreat. I do not see it happening any other way.

Remember people, the manga is called NARUTO. He won't die, period. He may die for a minute and than be resurrected, but he won't die. And if that happens, there will probably be some weird twist in which dying awakens the SO6P powers in his blood and he becomes SSJ-Infinity+1.

@126 Naruto did not convince, nor want Nagato to kill himself. Nagato chose the path of giving his life to restore the life of others. Period. Naruto did not want that but it worked out great.

Also, I wondered about Gezo for a minute because I assumed with Nagato gone that Gezo would dissapear. When you think about it, Gezo is a being that eats souls and living flesh essentially. If the Gezo that we've seen had Nagato present with large rods hanging out of Nagato's back we'd be competely right in believeing it would dissapear. However the only scenes before the one in this weeks manga, were of Gezo and Akatsuki around it meditating. Nagato must have released it after the first tailed beast was captured, making it, it's own entitity.

Gezo is just like the white Zetsus we see, it is without purpose until it is defined by another. Gezo is an instrument that needs to be used, it's purpose for this current segment of the manga is channeling power into life, instead of taking it. Gezo could have build up power over the years from all the life Nagato took, who knows. Eventually his power and purpose will be revealed, we can only wait until then.

konoha elders has been trying to rid of madara for ages

but were not able to because they are not powerful

enough to take him out. orochimaru for all we know might

experiments in order for them to defeat madara. i think

elders have long known what madara has been trying to

achieve but could not find a way to stop him. they tried

to send oro and itachi and both were not able to gather

significant intel on madara and both failed to take out

madara. itachi came close as madara have said but still

he still possess relevant secrets that put him above the

rest.

The technique used by the 4th portraid a different image altogther than what we see of Pain's creation. You don't see a blade or that devilish tongue. The statue is stoic and content. It doesn't seek or sulk, it's just a tool. The 'Dead-Reaper' consumed souls. It's method was by putting the person in an awake yet catatomic state. The person is unable to move but is fully aware. The chakra is drained rapidly, followed by the soul. Gezo or Gedo (mistype on my part in the previous posts) is not the same as the 'Dead-Reaper'.

They could be brothers or cousins though, who knows. The only thing I know, is that I don't want to be apart of that family tree.

The only way that Naruto will become the Juubi host, is if he dies and is resurrected just like Gaara. The emotional pain that has inflicted psychological pain that none of us can measure will impact his judgement. He will belive that if does not accept the Juubi that others will go through the same pain that he went through as a child. Given his character, he won't allow that. Other than that, I cannot see him accepting that much power based upon what the manga has present so far regarding his personality.

I have got two very important thngs to say over here. PLEASE DO READ AND REPLY

1. I always have thought that tobi is uchiha madara, but now I doubt it. have you people ever noticed that zetsu being one of madara's creation always calls him TOBI and not MADARA. there must be some good reason behind this. also tobi has never used his EMS in the series yet. he only uses sharingan.

2. the corpse that kabuto showed tobi cant be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th hokage since all of their souls have been sealed for good by the dead demon seal. seals which have been sealed by dead demon seal cant be brought back by impure world ressurection jutsu.

since madara only feared and respected hashirama senju he couldnt be scared by anyone elses corpse. this could very well mean that tobi isnt madaraa but someone else who knows a lot about what happened in the past. maybe kabuto showed madara's corpse to tobi.

I actually believe that Tobi is Madara.... With that being said, lets assume that Madara doesn't have his own body. That along this path to a higher existence... He lost his own body. So this Body is "Tobi" but is still Madara.


I mean why does Zetsu have a name if Madara/Tobi created him/it??????????????

My views:
all the zetsu's in madara's army were made in-part by hashirama's dna thus making them very strong, kabuto is a mad scientist who can make a better integration with the first's dna (making the clones even stronger). kabuto wants to experiment on yamato b'cuz he was orochimaru's only successful integration with the first's dna. i think the better the dna integration is, the more powerful the person becomes. madara can't use wood-style jutsu and yamato can even though both of them has the same dna integration.
Madara want himself to be the host of the 10 tails to have massive powers but he needs someone to sync with the gedo statue to give life-form to the beast.

Wherever this hideout is.... It definitely is far from Konoha... because of Danzo.

That while Danzo wanted power, he never trusted the Uchiha and Danzo himself has known about Madara for some time. Meaning, he has either conspired (unlikely) or secretly waged a hidden war with Madara (somewhat of good evidence)

on the first page, kishi has strongly hinted that kabuto will be the last enemy. we should also expect some interesting fights. the best fight would be madara + kabuto + sasuke + 100,000 zetsus vs. naruto + bee + other jonin on the island (except for guy because he's injured) + 80,000 shinobi from the five villages. it would be like on of those war movies. only thing is, kishi won't do that because kabuto will be the final enemy

Well my (crazy, at least by the time i started thinking about it) theory about zetsu being a creation of Tobi, and that Zetsu is the key to Tobi's plans is proving to be right after all.

Now to the chapter at hand...

Tobi told kabuto that he is going to give him one Zetsu body if he brought back the 9 tails. Hmmm i wonder how the story is going to progress for both sides (allies and villains) if he succeeds or doesnt succeed, accordingly. It is obvious that kabuto has his own plan and agenda, and for that to happen he needs to create a situation where the is a balance in forces between allies and Tobi. But at the same time he needs to gain Tobi's trust to advance his own plan.

I bet that he will bring either the 8 tails to Tobi (leaving Naruto untouched so the allies have a weapon against Tobi and at the same time winning Tobi's trust) or he will take (or convince naruto) the 9 tails chackra that naruto has locked in him with the new sealing technique.

What are your thoughts guys?

guys to me it makes sense if Madara was a clone too... He died in the fight with Hashirama but took the cells and ordered zetsu to merge and clone him with the cells of Hashirama somehow he transfered his soul too... that would explain Itachis quote that Madara is marely a shall of the powerful Madara he once was... or 2nd option Tobi is the son of hashiramas wife and Madara...

I know but kabuto is seriously out numbered he needs to bring back deidara, sasori, kakazu, itachi and nagato if he wants to stand a chance theres 2 many powerful shinobi there for him to do it on his own, it'd be intresting if he could use those dead akatsukis techniques.

Maybe kabuto wants one zetsu body so he could find out how to get rid off ORO. power and be cleansed from it.

He knows he is losing himself from it and he cant stop it or slow it. (something like cancer)

I was starting to think that there was more than one Zetsu, but I swear I didn't think he'd have that many. That would also explain why he can lose so many body parts and get them back. I'm still thinking he has some small villages at his disposal in case his Zetsu Army doesn't work. My guess as to why Kabuto knew about it is because Orochimaru was trying to get info on Akatsuki, and he probably discovered that when he was snooping, and since Kabuto has infused Orochimaru's Cells with his own, he's probably gained most of his knowledge as well. That would be the only thing that makes sense.
