So the Kyuubi was passed down from person to person. This situation is very similar too how the Sunagakure passed down the Shikaku and how Kumogakure passed down the Hachibi. The only difference is that Konoha tried to keep their Jinchuriki’s secret from the public, so that they wouldn’t be discriminated against and enemy ninja wouldn’t know who they were.

This chapter already confirmed what most of us believed which was that the Land of Fire and the Land of Whirl Pools had an intimate relationship. It also confirmed that the Senju and Uzumaki clans were distant cousins; this confirms that Naruto is in fact related to the Senju clan and has inherited the Sage of the Six Path’s body.

The chapter also confirmed that Madara can’t release the Kyuubi from Naruto with the Sharigan, so all these theories/predictions that Madara or Sasuke will be able to free or suppress the Kyuubi from Naruto needs to stop. Kushina’s pregnancy weakened the seal, which was the only reason why Madara was able to free the Kyuubi. Naruto’s seal is now stronger than ever, so Madara can’t free it. Naruto also has gained control over the beast, so it can’t be suppressed by Sasuke either.

Kushina said that the Eddy village and the Uzumaki clan were known for being powerful at Sealing techniques. So maybe this is a hint that Naruto will learn powerful sealing techniques since his clan, his god-father(Jiraiya), and his father and mother(Minato & Kushina) were all masters at sealing techniques.

Also, Sasgay can no longer bitch and moan too naruto about his whole clan being wiped out. The Uzumaki clan got destroyed years before the Uchiha. At least Sasgay got a chance to know his clan.

This was a great chapter until the end, when it says "who's face lies behind the mask." I hope Kishi isn't hinting at Tobi being someone other than Madara.

Also, Tobi is fucking brutal, kidnaped a newborn baby.

my guess is that since kushina taught sealing to minato, it would mean that more of kushinas chakra was used in the seal as opposed to minatos, so she can stick around longer for a nice chat :P

Kishi loves leaving us on a cliffhanger! Just when we were expecting the 500th episode to show more content, it sort of did, and again kept us waiting for 501!! Good lord, don't kill me every fooking week Kishi!

Overall, contentwise, this was the most satisfying. So Naruto is a whole other clan, eh? I know a lot of you guys were predicting this, so hats off to all of you! That was something I didn't believe or see it coming. Some guys on this forum can really predict stuff! Good going guys.

We still don't know who is Tobi. Hopefully the coming weeks will put an end to the endless heated debate about Madara/Obito or whoever. Given kishi's track record of throwing surprises, I am expecting the masked guy who kidnapped Naruto to be not Madara. It would be too straightforward otherwise. So next chapter's cliffhanger is the identity of this scenario's "Tobi" and the shock on the faces of Minato and Kushina.

It's nice that just as Sasuke's hatred on Naruto is based on the endless conflict between the 2 sons of the SO6P, their friendship is also based on their respective moms. Hope this will bring some light to the already dark Sasuke.. and one thing what everyone of us got wrong was that we will see the EMS in this chapter.

Eddy Village? Is that a translation error, because it sounds uncreative..

oh man, very good, very good indeed. kishi, please release the next chapter. i cant wait. the story made in the 500 is very very excellent. it is clear the all story that you gave us from the beginning of naruto. the story is very interesting. i hope the man threatening naruto is madara. he could be bcause tobi told sasuke that he hide himself in the leaf for sometimes.

i am sure that everyone here wants to see how minato and kushina died, and who saved naruto?

Ok, lets look at Sasuke's and Naruto's record against each other.

1. Naruto beat Garaa, while Sasuke got his ass kiked by him.

2.Naruto kicked Sasuke ass on the hospitol rooftop.

3. Sasuke won in the valley of end only because naruto wasn't trying too kill Sasuke and only aimed for his head band with Rasengan(Sasuke said Naruto couldn't scratch his headband earlier), while Sasuke was trying too kill Naruto and aimed for his chest with chidori. Naruto held back in that fight.

So what are these moments when Naruto got "his ass kicked."

1. naruto didnt beat gaara, it was kyuubi and toad gama, sasuke offered him to flee to with sakura, he wa willing to fight but naurto made his ass in the battle

2. watch that episode again, it is very clear that who kicked whose ass !!!!!

3. shame shame shame, poor naruto's rasengan is so weak that it only managed to leave a scratch, while sasuke could kill naruto very easily while he was unconscious.

sage of the six paths is the coffin guy...that would be the only thing to scare madara...and kishi is mixing up the myths names but if u piece it together u may agree with wut im saying....izanami is actually kushina not the kushina from the myth...(The Kojiki show some references about Izanami's life, although there's little information and the scriptures aren't quite so specific either. 1. it was naruto he summoned gama and then they did a transformation jutsu so as to look like the nine tail go back boy

2. on the hospital roof u see tht the chidori only gives direct damage where as the rasengan basically rips u to pieces

3. naruto vs sasuke naruto was aiming for sasuke's forehead protector cause he didnt want to kill him.

1. naruto didn't use the Kyuubi until garaa went into his full size Shikaku mode. naruto was kicking his ass without the Kyuubi.

2. Kakashi clearly said Naruto could've killed Sasuke. Rasengan is more dangerous than Chidori. The manga states this on several occasions.

Why do you think Sasuke went too Oruchimaru in the first place. It was because he became jealous of Naruto's growth and wanted too become stronger.

3. Like I said earleir, naruto was trying too prove a point too Sasuke, which is that they are equal. Sasuke said Naruto couldn't scratch his headband earlier because he felt superior.

It was too prove he was in fact Sasuke's equal and that he should come home. Naruto held back in his fight against Sasuke if he aimed for Sasuke vital spots he would've won. The real reason why Sasuke didn't kill naruto when he was passed out wasn't because he showed mercy, it was because he wasn't sure if he was stronger. So he left too make sure that the next time they fought he would be stronger.

Sasuke fought gaara even when he was transforming into shukau, you can see his fight with gaara at the 2nd part of chunin exams. He got a direct hit at gaara, one more hit and gaara would have been gone, but rituals started.

Yeah, that is because kakashi saw naruto first time using rasengan, he was already aware of chidori's power.

He went to orochimaru because he wanted to be stronger, the was not to become stronger than naruto because he already was, the real goal was to become strong enough to defeat Itachi Uchiha.

naruto was lying down total unconscious and just one blow could have killed him, but he didnt do it because he didnt wanted to kill anyone before Itachi Uchiha !!!!

A few questions we have to get some answers:

1) Why didnt't Leaf, beeing teh most powerfull village, save Eddy from destruction?

2) How come Danzo, as the leader of ANBU,wasn't involved in the nine tail host secret operation?

3) Did Mikoto Uchiha act like a spy for Uchiha clan and were they involved in some way?

4) Why didn't Minato asked some help from Kakashi who was the best ANBU of Konoha to guard the place of Naruto's birth?

2. kakshi knew of the rasengan's power before hand. Otherwise he wouldn't have known what the technique was when naruto used it.

I think the manga has at least another 2 years left before it finally ends. There are still several enimies left with Madara, Kisami, Zetsu, and Kabuto still living, and Sasuke and Naruto still need too fight as well. Plus, there is a war going on too, so other enimies may show up too join Madara.

wait didn't they say that it was very confidential and kept it secret between counsellors minato and anbu then how did that information leak out so easily
ok sasuke's mother might have some clue about it but still it was very difficult to break through that barrier
the only one who can retreive this information efficiently must be the one who can read and controls people's mind without them bieng aware of it and that someone of course is shisui and he was alive at that time as this event occured before uchiha massacre when sasuke was 8

3- Yeah that part about Mikoto being spy is unlikely but it makes me feel uncomfortable. No one suspected the Uchiha clan then. But then how did Tobi know of it.

4- Kakashi is too young or some very secret reason. Even Jiraiya didn't know of it.

1. the was a world war going on at the time, the leaf couldn't save everyone. They had enough problems trying too win the war. The Uzamaki clan was supposed too be powerful, so the real question is, who defeated them?

2. Being Hokage and a student of Jiraiya, Minato would've known better than too trust Danzo. But i'm sure Danzo would've known anyway, being the leader of Root(not Anbu).

3. No, the Uchiha and the konoha higher ups were still on good terms at the time. It wsn't until after the fox attack that the Konoha higher ups and uchiha began too mistrust and plot against each other.

4. Kakashi was only 13 or 14 when Naruto was born. He was too young and weak at the time, and he was not the top jounin yet.

Kishi has added a new information about the Uzumaki Eddy Clan where it does not have to interfere with the plot of the manga, this requires collecting data and in the end to reach to the desired ending according to Kishi. So UTP I suggest you don' say its lame unless you have proven to us why other than your so-called "flaws" or such. Boring ? dude don't tell me you knew that the 1sh Hokage was the 1st vessel or that she had the family name of Uzumaki, or that there village was knows as Longvitey or about the sealing process,etc.

I find it really hard too believe that the Kyuubi could forget and confuse the chakra of a man(Madara) who used too control him like a toy.

I'm nt saying it couldn't have been someone else who kidnaped Naruto, but until I see some hard evidence that proves its someone else, im can't accept it not being Madara. The only ninja in the story too have match his power was Hashirama Senju, I doubt there are other ninja's of that caliber just walking around at the time.

It is baby Naruto and we can see that he had the marks on his face from birth and not after the fox was sealed in him. This makes me think that a portion of the nine tail power was transfered in him during the childbirth and he was the one who transformed into the fox and attacked the village.

Minato maneged to seal the nine tail yang chakra in Naruto and the rest was sealed in Kushina and that's how she died.

Maybe Naruto got angry when he was in that masked man hand and he got the nine tail out.

this chapter ended the long debate about naruto being/not being a senju. some said he's not, some said he is, while i remember one or two of us said minato being a distant cousin. however i give credit to those who deduced the last one & were near to the correct deduction, as we know now senju & uzumaki were distant blood relatives.

also i think ryan deduced kushina being the previous jinchuriki(never mind 1st or 2nd) & the sealings relate kushina(she taught minato different seals), so redit to ryan as well. & so the uzumaki are expert in sealings, & blessed with astonishingly long lives, fine!

now could next chapter end the other long debate of tobi? let's see what kishi has kept in reserve for us. masked guy...hmmm i say he's not madara, instead say he's someone

i'll start from...

Uchiha Madara, after having been defeated by Hashirama, left the leaf. this is the point where the leaf hasn't found clues of his whereabouts, until tobi came.. and tobi, being an Uchiha, gathered strong ninjas to form the akatsuki to collect all bijuus.. it is a possibility that tobi and madara are the same person.. BUT

(1)to think of it, madara should be at this point weakened because of old age, because not even orochimaru had perfected immortality jutsu..

so, i really have a strong feeling that uchiha madara didn't left konoha alone.. maybe, at some point he has found or picked a young clan member to be the successor of his jutsus and plans for the village..

(2)if you can all remember, when kabuto and tobi spoke, kabuto calls out a dead body, and tobi had nothing else to do but to approve of kabuto's plans of taking sasuke.. i really don't think that tobi(if tobi is really madara) would be cornered by kabuto w/ this dead body.. coz i don't think that he will be afraid of any person, most specially if it is dead..

UNLESS THE DEAD BOBY THAT KABUTO CALLED OUT IS THE REAL UCHIHA MADARA..

if that's the case, then all of tobi's secrets would unravell..

just a prediction tho..

399/11 there is a pic it looks like kyubi is attacking the 1st, but there are no signs of sharigan like manda had when he was controled by saskue?,
theres a scroll infront of the 1st it could mean a few theroys cause only kyubi has said about madaras sinister chakara but nothing has been full proofed about madara actually controling kyubi, just like yagura danzo does say maybe so its not fully said he can, remember my yagura ideas are only theroys not the truth.
what im thinking is that the first knew the only way 2 defeaat tobi was to summon the 9, even thoe he knew it was goin to be hard to control, with the help of moti the 1st sucsseded....

Tobi is NOT Obito. Obito at this stage would've been about Kakashi's age, 14, so still a child essentially. Tobi there definitely looks like an adult.

Likewise with Shisui. If Sasuke was only a baby, Itachi was 5, and I assume Shisui was a friend of Itachi through the Ninja Academy, not an older mentor who then became his friend...

I agree that Tobi being Madara is seeming less likely now that it used to be, but you really need to keep your timelines in mind.

Plus, bear in mind that we're reading translations made by fans, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has compared the same episode translated by two different groups and found great differences. What I'm trying to get to is that we can't trust sentences like "who's behind the mask" 100%. Also, this episode had more spelling and gramatical mistakes than binktopia/mangastream translations tend to have, so I'm being cautious...

first of all nothing new in the chapter that most of us didn't already say previously...

as i said so many times... that Naruto's seal is in fact based on Kushina's that she was the one/ her clan was responsible for the sealing tech, that Minato used, but still this doesn't take away that Minato was genius... he used the sealing methods of Uzamaki Clan and modified the seal for his son/or it was meant for Kushina... he created a special Key to this seal and gave the Jinchuriki the utmost protection against Kyuubi's haterade!

this is for all those Madara fans...

the new thing tha i'm most surprised about is i think everyone overlooking or under estimating...

[the ppl of Eddy Village were all blessed with astonishingly long lives, to the point our village became known as the "village of longevity"]

why did Kishi put this in the story...

Uzamaki Clan ppl not all some had very high and unusually powerful chakra...

Why its is said over and over again in the manga that Uchiha Madara had most special chakra amongst all Uchihas...

is Kishi trying to put the long age of Madara here to ease, by building a clan that can live long... if he's alive , is Madara from this Clan or his Mother was from this clan...

so many possibilities!

well i will have to admit that i was certain that Kushina was the first Jinchuriki of Kyuubi... but it turns out that she was second... so CLOSE(damn u Kishi... lol)!

three ppl knew about Kushina's giving birth in a secret location outside Konoha... the two elders and Minato(i think Sendaime did knew, cause he was retired from his duties as Hokage...)

and only ppl shown in the manga that knew anything about Kushina's pregnancy are Jiraiya and Uchiha Mikoto...

was Uchiha Mikoto a spy...

Uchiha Madara used Kyuubi in his fight against Hashirama Senju... but Mito Uzamaki sealed Kyuubi with in herself either during the fight or after wards when Madara was defeated... doesn't matter what matters is that Madara didn't rip it out of any Jinchuriki!

i think this Masked person telling Minato to back off by threatening his child, is very cowardly choice if it was the GREAT Uchiha Madara... is this really Madara... lol!

So the knowledge of controlling the kyubi was not thru the senju ... but thru the uzumakis.

just consider the time line... Kushina came to Konoha when Sarutobi was Hokage, and Minato was a little kid... this makes Mito Uzamaki Senju, at least two generation old close to 85-95... and still Jinchuriki, she was powerful as hell in this manner... so long age from his clan is kinda evident, but not as it was told in Kushina's story, i think she aged normally because she was a Jinchuriki... her life span was shortened due to the extra burden of the seal!

None of you mentions that the masked guy (whoever he is) doesn't take head on Minato, instead he takes hostage the infant Naruto and threatens Minato to back away from Kushina otherwise he will kill Naruto...So my guess is that he's not strong enough to fight head on Minato, so I doubt he is Madara Uchiha

but ppl under estimating the power of Senju Clan... Tenzo could control Kyuubi's chakra forcefully suppress it by using his own chakra... channeling it though the necklace of Hokage!

is proof enough that Hashirama himself was able to do so, along with his powerful Keike Genkai of Wood element he was the master of all Bijus...

this necklace could also belonged to his wife... Mito, its properties may have some same elements as her special chakra, that could suppress Biju chakra!

@ UTP - Have you ever considered that Kushina was 10 months pregnant, just because Kishi wanted to make the pregnancy of a Jinchuriki a bit different from normal pregnancies? So, I don't believe that that is a mistake in the manga. Btw, Sasuke is like three months old there, since I clearly remember that his birthday was in July (I read it at Narutopedia).
As for my answer to your post from yesterday... I agree with everything you said, we tend to do that and I still have no explanation for it. So, maybe we should try to avoid the discussions we already had and focus on the new ones and state only whether we agree or disagree. Your English doesn't bother me at all, I got used to it. And, I've already watched 'Serendipity' and I'll definitely watch the other one. Tanks for the recommendation, I love romantic movies. :)
I don't think that Madara and Danzo can't be considered as humans, because they are. But, I think that they are very evil people or at least choose very cruel actions in order to achieve their goals. Maybe they act like humans and are not perfect, but they are definitely rare type of people and do everything the wrong way. That is why I hate them.

@ Ryan - Great job with your theories, especially since you were right about most things. I can't wait to hear your new theory on Tobi. I agree with everything you said in your previous posts, but there is only one thing that confuses me considering Madara's long life. Wasn't it already mentioned that the EMS prolongs the life? Or am I mistaken?

This was a great chapter, I liked it and I can't wait to read more. I've waited sooo long for the chapters where the attack from 16 years ago will be cleared up and it's finally here.

I don't think that we'll see who is behind the mask, because Minato and Kushina referred to the attacker as 'The Masked Guy' every time they spoke of him. I think that they never saw his face and it will be all left for Naruto to figure it out. And, she already mentioned Madara Uchiha when she talked about the fight with the First, so why wouldn't she mention him again if she knew that he was behind the mask. It is clear that she doesn't know, or Kishi wants to play with our brains and loves to use code names until he reveals the face.

Btw, in the conversation between Mikoto and Kushina not much was said and definitely no crucial information were revealed, so I don't know how is it possible for Mikoto to be the one that leaked the info. The only thing that she found out was that Kushina was almost due, and the attacker must have planned the whole thing for a long time and he would know that already (no need for Mikoto's snooping). It must be someone else, but Kishi definitely wants to confuse us even more or make us believe that the Uchiha's were definitely planning a coup d'etat. However, whatever Tobi/The Masked Guy/ Madara is doing now (after the whole clan was wiped out just like he wanted) has nothing to do with the coup d'etat and that just proves that the attack from 16 years ago was not initiated by the Uchiha's... at least not as a part of their coup d'etat. These are just my thoughts.
